Best bakery in Des Moines. Incredibly well made pastries, desserts, breads, and sandwiches. I've liked everything on the menu so far. Everything seems to be baked fresh the same day. Be prepared to arrive early because most of the fresh bread is sold out by mid-morning. Decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking around the back. Be prepared to wait in line for 5-10mins on a Saturday morning at the register.

What a delightful and delicious eatery. Every time I travel I'm always looking for a change of pace and La Mie did not disappoint! Delicious pastries, selection of breads and rolls, the dessert cooler had me in a trance and yup..... I couldn't resist. My fiance had the smoked salmon omlet, myself omelet, had the sausage and mushroom omelet. We both grabbed a sandwich for lunch later and I would nearly kill for another chicken salad croissant. Don't miss this one or you'll regret it.

I didn’t expect the place to be a sit-down. The atmosphere was lively. The line was fast. We got the caramel cheesecake, New York cheesecake, tiramisu and custard. They all tasted amazing. I would have to say the caramel cheesecake was my favorite.
